What’s he really looking for?

So if you go to someone's house and you perform a maintenance, what are you actually doing? Essentially, I'm looking at all the exposed plumbing. I'm looking underneath sinks. I'm looking at any potential scale buildup, any potential leak points. I'm making sure that nothing's currently leaking. I'm checking water pressure. I'm checking water quality. I'm checking the age of your water heater, letting you know when and if it's time to start looking at replacement or even to consider it. Unfortunately, most people don't replace anything until it starts leaking. My job on these maintenance plans is to get there, let you know beforehand. That way, you don't have to call me when things start leaking. You can be preemptive and I can kind of let you know and at least give you a heads up, give you time to say, hey, this is going to go soon. Start considering replacing it.
