The Story
The highlights from this video
Imagine waking up to a chilly morning in Dallas, only to find your heating system struggling to keep up. A faulty igniter could be the culprit, and ignoring it can lead to bigger issues down the road. That's why it's crucial to ensure your heating system is in top shape before the cold sets in.
During our recent fall tune-up, we took a close look at the igniter, a small yet vital component of your furnace. We checked its resistance reading and inspected it for any signs of buildup that could indicate wear. A fragile igniter can lead to inefficient heating or even a complete system failure, leaving your family shivering when you need warmth the most.
Fortunately, our expert found the igniter in good condition with a resistance of 48 ohms. We always double-check with the manufacturer's specifications to ensure it's functioning optimally. Regular maintenance like this not only extends the life of your heating system but also provides peace of mind as winter approaches. Don't wait until it's too late—schedule your fall tune-up today to keep your home warm and cozy!
The next thing I want to look at is the igniter itself. There's two things I'm looking at here. I want to check the actual resistance reading of the igniter, but I also kind of just want to look at it and see if I see any buildup on the igniter. That can sometimes be an indicator that it's wearing out or getting weak. Now with these, you do have to be very careful because they are fragile. Sometimes you'll get little white spots on them. That's not what you want to see. This one here looks pretty good though. We'll go ahead and check the resistance through it, 48 ohms. I feel confident that it's just fine, but before I give it that final okay, I'll look up the manufacturer's literature to confirm that.
