The Story
The highlights from this video
Have you ever wondered what really happens during a fall HVAC tune-up? It’s not just a routine check; it’s a vital inspection that could save you from costly repairs down the line. When our expert technician steps into the attic, the first thing he does is survey the area to identify any potential issues that could impact your heating system's performance.
In one recent inspection, we found insulation piled on top of itself, which can severely hinder your system’s efficiency. More concerning were the abandoned wires and a gas line that wasn’t properly capped. These oversights not only pose safety risks but can also lead to more significant problems if left unchecked. Homeowners need to be aware that a little attention now can prevent bigger headaches in the future.
Our technician's thorough approach includes checking for any signs of rust, like the one we discovered in a drain pan. Even though it wasn’t leaking at the moment, it raised a red flag that needed further investigation. By catching these issues early, we can recommend the right solutions, whether it’s capping that gas line or improving your insulation, ensuring your home stays cozy and safe throughout the colder months.
You ever wonder what goes on during a fall tune-up? Watch this. So anytime I'm doing a maintenance or a service call of any kind and I come into the attic, the first thing I do is kind of just get a lay of the land. Just look around and sort of see what I see. Like in this attic for example, it looks like they had insulation and then they had insulation blown on top of that insulation. They definitely need a top off. See they've got some kind of strange things going on here. They've got wires from something that's been abandoned through the years. A gas line here that's turned off, but it's not capped off. We'll see if they want to speak to a plumber about capping that off properly. See if they want us to get some of this stuff out of here. And I see some rust starting to form here in this drain pan. I don't see anything wet, so I don't know how that got in there, but I do want to investigate that a little bit and see what's going on there. Just kind of look around, see if I see anything that stands out before I ever even touch the equipment.
