Some people might want an oversized unit, thinking that, oh, it's gonna cool my house faster, but in reality, you can be left with a lot of moisture, and moisture can cause mold in your supply plenums and along the house. If you have hardwood floors, they'll start to raise up because of all the moisture in the air, and that's not something you want.
