Hvac Install 1/2/2018
The Story
The highlights from this video
When the chilly winds of winter began to sweep through Dallas, one homeowner faced a daunting reality: their aging gas furnace had seen better days. The unit was not only inefficient but also posed a risk of breakdown during the coldest months. As the homeowner anxiously awaited the arrival of Medley Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing, they couldn't help but wonder if they would be left in the cold. "Well this is what we're taking out today guys," said the technician, surveying the old furnace with a mix of relief and determination.
Upon inspection, the team discovered that the furnace was not just outdated but had also developed some minor leaks. "They find leaks. Sometimes they do," the technician remarked, emphasizing the importance of a thorough check. This particular furnace had a few quirks, including a tricky drain line that ran behind the unit, which could complicate the removal process. However, the team was prepared to tackle these challenges head-on. "We got real lucky here. Got this little side closet here, so this drain line isn't going to actually be as bad as I thought," he noted with a hint of optimism.
As the team got to work, they carefully removed the old furnace, ensuring no debris would blow into the homeowner's kitchen sink. The technician’s attention to detail was commendable, as he instructed his partner, "Every time we blow, drain line, just do like that so you don't blow crud all onto the customer sink." This kind of care is what sets Medley apart in the competitive HVAC industry.
Once the old unit was out, the team began installing the new gas furnace, which was a good-looking machine that promised efficiency and reliability. "Dad's about to cut in another return here. He only had these two, so we’ll go ahead and add one more. That’ll give us plenty," the technician explained, ensuring that the system would be capable of distributing heat evenly throughout the home. A properly configured return air system is essential for maximizing heating efficiency and maintaining comfort.
With the installation nearing completion, the team made sure to check all connections and add the necessary components. "We got our top secret Armaflex shield on there. New disconnect and whip. Shot will be good. That's it for today," the technician announced, indicating that the new system was ready for inspection.
For the homeowner, this was more than just an HVAC upgrade; it was peace of mind knowing that their family would be warm and safe throughout the winter months. Leaving the job site, the technician emphasized the importance of regular maintenance and timely upgrades, especially in Dallas where winters can be unpredictable.
In conclusion, if your furnace is showing signs of age or inefficiency, don’t wait for a breakdown to take action. Contact Medley Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing today to schedule a comprehensive inspection and ensure your home stays warm and cozy all winter long.
